FAQ

The questions parents actually ask.

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, write to connect@caldralearning.com — a person replies.

What exactly is Caldra?

A voice-first AI tutor for children. Your child talks to Caldra, and it teaches across every subject — paced to them, not their year group. You don't pick a curriculum or plan a thing; Caldra owns the year and keeps you in the loop.

What ages is it for?

LKG through Grade 12 — and the method is the same at every age: the why before the what. What changes is depth. In the early years (4–8) that means sounds becoming reading and counting becoming number sense; in the middle years (9–12) it means concepts instead of tricks, right when school stops explaining why; for teens (13–18) it means filling the concept gaps under boards and entrances, with full NCERT and Cambridge coverage. Caldra meets your child at their actual level in each subject — ahead in one, steady in another is normal and fine.

Do I have to plan or teach anything?

No. That's the whole promise: if you ever have to choose a curriculum or chase your child, we've failed. You set the intention once; Caldra carries the daily plan, the pacing, and the catch-up.

What happens if my child misses a week?

Caldra notices the gap and gently re-paces — it picks up where they left off and rebalances the rest of the year, rather than letting them silently fall behind. You'll see it in your weekly note.

How do you keep conversations safe?

Every exchange runs through child-safety checks before your child hears it, sensitive moments are logged for you, and anything serious raises a parent alert. Caldra never cold-refuses a curious question — it steers warmly and keeps you informed. More in Trust & Privacy.

What about my child's data and privacy?

Raw audio is discarded after it's understood; we don't sell data; there are no ad trackers. You can see everything your child explored and export or erase it. We're building DPDP-aligned. The full detail is on Trust & Privacy and in our Privacy Policy.

What device does it need?

A phone, tablet, or laptop with a microphone and a browser. No special hardware. A quiet-ish spot and a charged device is all your child needs.

Isn't this just more screen time?

It's the opposite of what you're worried about. Caldra is a conversation — your child talks and listens, like they would with a tutor sitting beside them. There's no feed to scroll, no video to stare at, no streaks engineered to pull them back. Many sessions happen with the device face-down on the table.

Does Caldra replace school?

No — and it doesn't try to. School gives your child classmates, teachers, and a place to belong. Caldra is the tutor beside all of that: the one who has time for every question, notices what school missed, and makes sure the actual learning happens. Your child's curiosity shouldn't depend on whether the syllabus has room for it.

Can Caldra prove my child is actually learning?

Yes — that's the point. It only counts something as mastered after your child recalls it on a later day, keeps a book of things they figured out, and builds a portfolio of what they've made. You see real evidence, not vanity numbers.

What does it cost?

Two simple plans: Caldra Pick at ₹1,999/mo (choose your subjects) and Caldra Year at ₹4,999/mo (every subject, the whole owned year) — see Pricing. Our first fifty families — the Caldra Circle — pay a fifth less, always.

What if it isn't for us?

Then you leave — cancel anytime, and you take everything with you: your child's portfolio, their "things I figured out" book, the full record. Nothing is held hostage. The only way to know if Caldra fits your child is one honest month of it.

What is the Caldra Circle?

Caldra opens with fifty families — ten in each age band from 4 to 18 — chosen by request, not by queue. The circle pays a fifth less, always: whatever Caldra's plans and prices are, now or years from now, your family pays 20% less for as long as you stay. You get everything new first and a straight line to the people building Caldra — and in return you use it honestly, tell us what breaks, and give us one short check-in a month. The sharpest catch each month earns that month free. Your discount is for participation, never for your child's data. Ask for your family's place.

How do I get in?

Just sign up — start the 7-day free trial. No card, no invite, nothing to cancel; your child can be talking to Caldra in two minutes. The Caldra Circle is a separate, optional program for fifty families who want to help build Caldra — ask for a place any time, before or after you start.
